Monitoring Habitats Directive species: coordination and substantive monitoring of implementation
Details
INBO coordinates the monitoring of the Habitats Directive species. INBO only performs all or part of this monitoring itself for a few species and groups of species (included in separate INBO projects). The other species are monitored by means of defined specifications and contracts with third parties. This last element is one of the key critical success factors. In the first phase, the blueprints for each species group are finalised together with the Biometrics & Quality Assurance Team. Among other things, they indicate the species for which structured monitoring networks are being worked towards. The other species remain part of an unstructured data collection system. The blueprints form the basis for discussions with potential data collection operators. On the basis of the results of this consultation, the measurement networks can be determined and field protocols drawn up.Status | Running |
