PAS impact monitoring

Details
To reduce the harmful impact of nitrogen on our health and the environment, the Flemish government is taking general and (area-) specific measures. This is the Programmatic Approach to Nitrogen, or PAS for short. The PAS impact monitoring aims to monitor eutrophication via groundwater, surface water and soil at the Flanders level and the five PAS measure areas. To this end, monitoring networks will be implemented to follow the state and trend of the natural environment in three compartments (groundwater, surface water and soil) in Natura 2000 habitats. In addition, additional attention will be paid to nitrogen-sensitive habitats. Moreover, existing monitoring biotic habitat quality will be condensed in the customised areas. The results should support planning, evaluation and adjustment of Flemish nature policy, and nitrogen policy in particular (such as PAS reporting).Status | Running |
