Details
Within the framework of the scientific support of the fisheries policy and fish management of the Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos (Visserijfonds), two research themes are highlighted. Firstly, research is being conducted to support the implementation and follow-up of the Eel Management Plan (Regulation EU / 1100/2007) which aims at protecting and developing the European eel population. This research focuses on the problem of the ingress of glass eel and the egress of silver eel. Secondly, research is carried out as part of the follow-up and support of the species recovery programs of rare (reophile) fish. This research focuses on developing population and habitat models, feasibility studies for reintroduction, evaluation of completed reintroductions and the development and evaluation of habitat restoration measures.Status | Running |
