Background - additional funding on IAS (by the Ministry) - many requests for scientific advice from managers on woody alien species - various initiatives from forest groups, ANB and universities on assisted migration and on the introduction and management of woody alien species and provenances Objective 1. develop a substantiated position and advice on woody alien species in Flanders 2. substantiate exotic species policy (prevention, rapid response, management) with state-of-the-art risk analyses Method - risk assessment (protocol Harmonia+) based on in-depth literature study for a list of woody alien species that are on the radar in Flanders - devise an approach for a horizon scan on potential invasive species for protected forest habitats in Flanders - targeted communication of practical guidelines and points of attention to site managers - advice on current issues in management and policy on the use of and problems with woody alien speciesStatus | Running |
