Sampling and analyses in the context of the Flemish region monitoring network biota (Field Study Biota Standards III) (EVINBO)
Details
Mandatory reporting for the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) and its daughter directives includes a physicochemical, a biological (environmental quality) and a chemical component. The chemical component is mainly determined by the environmental quality standards (EQS) as included in the recent daughter directive 2013/39 / EC. These EQS for priority and priority hazardous substances generally consider the water column the matrix to be investigated. Certain substances, however, are poorly measured in water due to their hydrophobic properties, and are more likely to bind to the sediment or to accumulate in organisms. For these pollutants, it is necessary to measure the concentrations in tissue in lieu of water. The aim of this study is to meet the monitoring requirements of the Water Framework Directive, especially the daughter directive Dangerous Substances. This project aims to sample fish (and invertebrates), and the analysis of a number of specific substances. Universiteit Antwerp has asked INBO to participate as a subcontractor for the fish monitoring.Status | Uitgevoerd |
