Study of the tree frog metapopulation

Details
The European tree frog (Hyla arborea) was still fairly common in Flanders in the first half of the 20th century. However, it has declined sharply in Flanders since the 1960s. After targeted habitat restoration within the remaining populations, the numbers of tree frogs have started to increase again. This has led to the perception that the recovery of the populations is generally successful. However, basic information about the current genetic diversity since the bottleneck and possible undocumented translocations is lacking. In this study, the potential occurrence of exotic species, the degree of isolation and genetic diversity will be investigated through genetic research.Status | Not yet started |
