Velo-city: Flanders is cycling
Today more than ever, cycling is a game changer for Flanders’ vision of mobility. As a sustainable mode of transport, it is good for the climate, health and the economy. To manage the increasing bicycle use in Flanders, the Government of Flanders has developed an ambitious cycling policy.
The Cycling Ambition
With the Flemish Cycling Ambition, the Government of Flanders wants 30% of all journeys to be done by bicycle by 2040. This not only means less car traffic but also a redistribution of space, resources and effort.
