The way the current economy is organised contributes to biodiversity loss. Voices from both policy and business circles are calling to stop and reverse the negative impact of the economy. We want to evolve towards a nature-positive economy. Apart from a clear direction, the term 'Nature positive' has not yet been explicitly defined in terms of goals and the pathways towards them. With GoNaturePositive, we provide a scientific perspective on the concept, which goals it covers and how to get there. To do so, we works with academic partners, civil society organisations, certification companies, the financial sector and some regenerative economic sectors such as agroecology, forestry, eco-tourism and the marine sector. As INBO, we are responsible for defining criteria and indicators for Nature Positiveness' that these different partners can work with to set their targets and track progress. To do so, we draw on the multiple values of nature to design balanced, ambitious and fair criteria and indicators.Status | Running |
