Prerequisites for starting a programme at an approved validation body

Exactly how much experience you need depends on what is expected of you during testing. The amount of experience will not be the same for all professions or competencies. To find out exactly what is expected, review the information on professions or contact the validation body (in Dutch)(opens in new window).

How good your Dutch needs to be depends on the profession you want to be tested for. For example, a good knowledge of Dutch is required for a guide or a childcare worker, but only an elementary knowledge for the meat process worker and deboner or reach truck driver. To find out how good your Dutch needs to be, go through the information on professions or contact the validation body (in Dutch)(opens in new window).

You do not need to be an employee to qualify for a validation programme at a validation body. Job-seekers, employees and the self-employed are all welcome. If you are an employee, you make your own decision as to whether to notify your employer.
