A number of (foreign) diplomas are automatically level-equivalent in Flanders. You do not need to apply for equivalence recognition for these diplomas or certificates.
Diploma recognition for regulated profession or professional title
If you want to practise a or in Flanders with a foreign diploma, you have to have that diploma recognised.

Where to apply for equivalence recognition of your diploma for a regulated profession depends, among other things, on your diploma
as well as where you obtained it:
- within the /Switzerland
- or outside the European Economic Area (EEA)/Switzerland.
Diploma obtained within the EEA or Switzerland
Do you want to work in Dutch-speaking education in Flanders or Brussels? Or would you like to practice a regulated healthcare profession or another regulated profession (lawyer, architect, veterinarian, notary, etc.)?
Diploma obtained outside the EEA/Switzerland
Do you have a foreign degree from outside the EEA/Switzerland and want to pursue a regulated profession?
