Flanders Outlook 2012. A benchmarking of Flanders amongst the European regions
By means of the plan ‘Flanders in Action’, the Flemish Government wants to strengthen Flanders’ economic and innovative potential so that it will belong to the top of the European regions in 2020. This analysis starts from a determination of regions that are yet a step ahead of Flanders in the development to truly innovative regions. We want to depict how Flanders is positioned in comparison to those ‘excellent’ regions. The analysis concentrates on the socio-economic performance of Flanders and the limited set of benchmark regions.
