The SALUS campaign tackles the issue of Internet pollution and its impact on the environment. With a focus on educating the public, SALUS aims to raise awareness about the excessive energy consumption of servers and the environmental consequences of electronic device production. Through engaging content on social media platforms, SALUS encourages mindful internet and device usage. The campaign includes informative texts, interactive challenges, and real-life events to create a positive impact. By fostering a supportive community, SALUS motivates individuals to make small changes towards a more sustainable future. The project successfully reached and informed thousands of people, resulting in actions such as email deletion and utilizing flight mode to reduce CO2 emissions.

This thesis has an impactful contribution to sustainability. In just five months, it transformed the seemingly mundane topic of “internet pollution” into a powerful informational campaign. The initiative, named “Salus,” strategically utilized Instagram and TikTok to create a community focused on promoting a healthier and environmentally friendly lifestyle. The project successfully engaged a global audience, with followers from Australia, Brazil, Tehran, and notable figures in veganism, professional fighting, and environmental advocacy.
Through diligent social media efforts, the team educated and inspired self-aware individuals, organizing weekly challenges and sharing valuable tips for a more eco-conscious life. With over 70 posts in two months, they captured the attention of thousands worldwide. The community’s growth showcased the project’s effectiveness in fostering positive change.
The impact extended beyond virtual spaces, as evidenced by the interest of the university’s sustainability coordinator. The project is not just an ephemeral online endeavor but marks the beginning of a significant movement. By turning challenges into achievements and garnering support from diverse followers, this initiative stands as a testament to the team’s dedication and the potential for sustained positive impact, making it a deserving candidate for recognition.
