Validation programme for professional qualification as a reception administrative assistant

What the profession involves

A reception administrative assistant receives and informs visitors in a professional and customer-friendly manner. In doing so, they perform limited administrative tasks taking into account the organisation’s guidelines and procedures.

A reception administrative assistant:

  • performs administrative and logistical support tasks to assist the organisation;
  • handles general incoming communications and relays messages to the designated contact person;
  • controls access and movement within the organisation and sites;
  • consults and completes data in the database;
  • handles complaints and passes them on as needed;
  • welcomes visitors or customers in a customer-friendly manner.

The range of duties are performed in an office environment or at a front desk and with the necessary flexibility.

If you want to demonstrate your experience as a reception administrative assistant at a validation bdoy, you can do so by completing a practical test and a case study.

The language of the instructions during the tests will be Dutch.

You will be tested on your ability to:

  • organise an efficient reception area;
  • welcome and receive a minimum of five visitors or guests and answer a question from a Dutch-speaking, French-speaking, English-speaking and German-speaking customer;
  • handle a minimum of three documents, twenty e-mails and five items of mail, during which you will handle documents from a Dutch-speaking, French-speaking, English-speaking and German-speaking customer;
  • conduct at least ten incoming and five outgoing telephone conversations, during which you will answer a question from a Dutch-speaking, French-speaking, English-speaking and German-speaking customer;
  • provide logistical support for at least one meeting at the customer’s request.
